The Story Behind the Name
How one bhabhi's kitchen became a family legend — and then a masala.
It began in Kanpur, when our grandfather Shyam Charan Yadav came and settled here, planting the roots of a big, joyful joint family — the Yadav parivaar.
His son Devendra Singh Yadav married Sudha. Devendra had four sisters — eldest Poonam, then Neelam, then Sheelam, and the youngest, Sonam (whom we lovingly remember) — and, as is our beautiful custom, they all lovingly called Sudha their “Bhabhi.”
Soon the house filled with children — Devendra & Sudha's elder son Sunit and younger daughter Pooja, and Sheelam's son Tanmay. Following their aunts, this whole new generation grew up calling her “Bhabhi” too. In our home, that one warm word belonged to everybody.
And Bhabhi had a magic recipe — a mix masala so good that every family member, and every guest who ever visited, left absolutely mesmerised.
That masala became famous across the entire Yadav clan. So the youngest generation — Tanmay, Pooja & Sunit — decided the world deserved a taste too. They named it after the woman who made it, and the name the whole family calls her with love:
भाभी के मसाले — Bhabhi Ke Masale.
